Airport Transfers/Car Rentals/Shuttle Busses

The Hyatt Regency Mauii does not offer shuttle bus service to/from Maui ( OGG)  airport. Your choices are car rental, Turo, RideShare, Taxi or pre-arranged shuttle bus service.

It is strongly recommended that you have ground transportation 

pre-arranged before you arrive in Maui

Kahului Airport (OGG) is Maui’s main airport, and where most visitors will arrive. There are two smaller commuter airports as well: Kapalua Airport (JHM) in West Maui and Hāna Airport (HNM) in East Maui. Many airlines offer nonstop flights to Maui, or you may also fly into Honolulu International Airport (HNL) on Oʻahu before hopping to Maui on an easy, 30-minute flight.

Travelers arriving on Maui can take a taxi to most resort and hotel destinations, and private airport transfers can also be booked ahead of time. Some hotels in larger resort areas like Kāʻanapali offer complimentary shuttles to nearby towns and attractions, but airport transportation typically costs extra.

Visitors who are itching to get out and explore can rent a car at Kahului Airport or Kapalua Airport, where most of the major rental companies are represented. Please note: Rental cars are currently in high demand, so please plan ahead to secure a reservation. When driving on Maui, be sure to follow “aloha” traffic customs. Drive slowly, let locals pass and don’t tailgate. At one-lane bridges (plentiful along the Hāna Highway), yield to oncoming traffic; if there is a line waiting on the other side when you approach, stop and let your neighbors cross. Driving here is much more relaxed than the continental US, so take it easy and enjoy the scenery.

DO I NEED A CAR RENTAL?

That depends on your personal preferences.  TheHyatt Regency Maui has an incredible pools, restaurants, golf, tennis, spa, fitness room and many other features. You can enjoy a week in Maui and never leave the hotel!  With the cost of car rentals so high, you can save money by using shuttle busses and taking a tour:

·  Take a shuttle to/from airport or Rideshare

·  Use Uber or Taxi or free shuttle busses to go to dinner in/around Kaanapali  Beach area

·  Take an island tour or activity and leave the driving to your tour guide

All major car rental companies are represented in Maui You may also try Expedia, Orbitz or other travel web sites.

TURO CAR RENTAL OPTIONS

Visit www.turo.com. These are private owners who rent their vehicle. Insurance is included with the rental pricing. TIP:  Car rental prices drop when owners are unable to rent their vehicles. Check Turo often as you get closer to your dates of travel for lower prices. 

AIRPORT TRANSFER OPTIONS
